One firefighter was injured fighting a huge fire at a commercial market building in Eagle Rock, officials said Monday.
The fire in the 3300 block of North Verdugo Boulevard was reported at 8:58 p.m. Sunday, and by the time the first fire companies arrived, flames were shooting through the building’s roof, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Katherine Main.
About 125 firefighters battled the blaze. One suffered a minor injury but did not need to go to the hospital, officials said, and the flames were extinguished in about two hours.
Video showed one of the market’s walls collapsing during the fire.
Seventeen fire companies responded to the scene, along with seven ambulances and an urban search-and rescue squad, officials said.
