Two suspects sought in Playa del Rey home invasion robbery

Authorities were searching Tuesday for two suspects in a Playa del Rey home invasion robbery who made off with stolen cash and an SUV after tying the resident up.
The incident was reported just before midnight Monday in the 7500 block of Vista del Mar, said Los Angeles police Officer Bruce Borihanh. The male victim was uninjured.
The suspects, described by police as two men armed with handguns, were already in the residence and confronted the man when he arrived home, demanding that he turn over cash, valuables and his Mercedes-Benz SUV.
LAPD Sgt. Dennis Beacham told KTLA-TV that the resident was kicked by the armed men during the robbery.
“He was tied up, he was kicked, and they demanded items from his residence,” Beachman said.
The SUV was later found abandoned near the intersection of Jefferson and Lincoln boulevards in the Playa Vista area, Borihanh said.
Investigators were trying to determine if the home was chosen at random or specifically targeted, Borihanh added.
