Man molested underage family member for years, police say

Police in Simi Valley arrested a man on suspicion of molesting an underage family member for years.
David William Turner, 50, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sodomizing, orally copulating and performing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14, according to the Simi Valley Police Department.
Investigators were first told of the alleged molestation in May 2014, when a now-adult family member said the repeated molestation took place from the age of 11 to 17.
At the time of the alleged abuse, the victim -- whose gender was not identified by police -- lived in the same Simi Valley home as Turner, police said.
Turner, a Moorpark resident, is being held at Ventura County Main Jail with bail set at $260,000. He’s scheduled to appear in court Monday.
