Police are investigating a shooting at a Pasadena park that left two men injured Wednesday evening.
Patrol officers driving near Washington Park heard shots fired at about 6 p.m., Lt. Tracey Ibarra of the Pasadena Police Department said.
Around the same time, Ibarra said, police received calls reporting a large group of people causing a disturbance at the park.
When officers approached, they saw multiple people running and driving away from the parking lot on the northern end of the park, Ibarra said.
Two men with gunshot wounds were found in the park and were taken to the hospital in “very serious condition,” she said.
Washington Boulevard was closed between El Molino and Hudson avenues as police investigate the shooting, she said.
“Obviously, there were several people there. Someone had to have seen something, and we would like them to come forward,” Ibarra told The Times.
Witnesses are urged to call Pasadena police at (626) 744-4241.
