A man and a woman were shot and killed late Tuesday as they sat inside a parked car in Vermont Square.
The two were sitting inside the car in the 4800 block of South Western Avenue at about 10:55 p.m. when a light-colored sedan pulled up next to them and multiple shots were fired, Los Angeles Police Det. Chris Barling said.
The 21-year-old woman died at the scene, Barling said. The man, 28, was taken to an area hospital, where he later died, he said. Neither of their identities were immediately released.
In the last year, 10 people have been killed in the Vermont Square neighborhood, according to the L.A. Times Homicide Report. Eight people died from gunshot wounds.
