Homicide detectives are seeking three suspects in the shooting death late Friday of a South Los Angeles taco vendor.
The shooting occurred at 10:50 p.m. when one of three men who approached the vendor on foot shot him in the face during a possible robbery attempt, LAPD Officer Liliana Preciado said Sunday.
The 29-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, at the intersection of East 51st Street and McKinley Avenue, she said.
A spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Sunday that the victim’s name was being withheld pending notification of his family in Mexico.
No arrests had been made. The suspects were last seen in a red vehicle near the taco stand.
