Reader Photo: A ball of inspiration
Los Angeles-based photographer Marcia Prentice found a purple balloon outside a camera store. Inspired by recent visits to art exhibits, she immediately drove to the beach in Santa Monica in hopes of creating her own art.
Turns out, it was far from easy. The wind blew the balloon every which way but Prentice finally got the shots she wanted.
“I was constantly chasing this balloon up and down the beach,” she says of the impromptu photo shoot. “I love the contrast of the deep purple and the soft pastel colors of the ocean waves.”
