Letters: Cyclists are taxpayers

Re “Bicycling in L.A.,” Letters, Oct. 4
It never fails: Wherever there are cyclists on the streets of Los Angeles, there will be motorists like letter writer Don Tonty barreling past who insist we pay our fair share in maintaining the roads.
As the owner of a home, two vehicles and a bicycle that I ride regularly, I’m always fascinated by those people who consider cycling and taxpaying mutually exclusive activities, and who can’t seem to fathom that I already do what he insists I don’t.
Thankfully, there are more cyclists like myself than there are drivers who believe such nonsense.
