Readers React: L.A. city attorney’s fight against the gun industry

To the editor: We are so fortunate to have Mike Feuer as the city attorney of Los Angeles. (“Gridlock in Congress? Act locally,” Op-Ed, Nov. 2)
In acting to curtail gun violence in the city, he proves that he is a man of his word who seeks to improve life for all of us in Los Angeles. He is willing to fight the powers that be, such as the National Rifle Assn., to improve control of guns and get rid of the violence that happens so often when firearms fall into the wrong hands.
As Jim Newton puts it, Feuer’s efforts “might even revive the belief that government can work.”
Are there any more out there like Feuer? Let’s encourage him to run for higher office.
