Color these Huntington Beach runners happy

Huntington State Beach often is full of colorful characters, but on Saturday the hundreds of people partaking in the Color Run 5K literally were caked in colors.
The object of the 3.1-mile untimed race was for participants to get doused with paint dust of various hues in an effort to promote health and happiness around the world – thus the event’s nickname, “the happiest 5K on the planet.”
The event also was intended to raise awareness and money for charity partner Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, organizers said.
