H.B. Turkey Wobble steps up for water charity

Walkers and runners worked up a Thanksgiving appetite Thursday morning at Huntington City Beach in the sixth annual Turkey Wobble.
Participants could traverse 5K (3.1-mile) and 10K (6.2-mile) routes on an oceanfront course beginning at the beach parking lot at Pacific Coast Highway and Beach Boulevard.
Children 12 and younger could try a 1K (0.62-mile) race.
Proceeds from registration fees will go to Causelife, which helps provide clean water in developing countries.
In the past five years, the Huntington Beach Turkey Wobble has raised enough money to drill 25 water wells in Haiti, Uganda, India, Guatemala, Honduras and the Philippines, organizers said. Each well provides clean, fresh water to 1,000 to 1,500 people.
