Briefs: Girls’ hoops tryouts Monday

Tryouts for the HB Waves Girls’ Basketball program will be held Monday at Huntington Beach High (1905 Main Street). The tryouts session runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium.

Beach volleyball camp

The final Beach Volleyball Summer Camp starts Monday and runs through Sept. 2 at Huntington State Beach (Pacific Coast Highway at Magnolia Street).

The camp is open to youth ages 6 through 18 (all skill levels) and runs in two sessions, morning (9:30-11:30 a.m.) and afternoon (1-3 p.m., no Friday sessions) Monday through Friday. Club-sponsored beach volleyball tournaments will be held every Friday. The cost is $180 for the five-day session.
