Baseball: Corona Santiago wins Don Lugo tournament with 5-4 win over Glendora

Corona Santiago rallied for five runs in the final two innings to pull out a 5-4 win over Glendora in the championship game of the Don Lugo tournament on Monday. The Sharks are 5-0.
Freshman Jacob Shanks tied the game with an RBI single in the seventh. Freshman Brice Turang drove in the game-winning run with a bases loaded walk. Andrew Jones had two hits.
Taft 6, Quartz Hill 1: Ryan Shreve allowed four hits in 6 2/3 innings for the Toreadors. Justin Thomas had a two-run double. Max Mehlbaum hit a home run for Taft.
Mater Dei 5, Foothill 2: Brandon Perez had a two-run home run to lead the Monarchs in a battle of top 25 teams. Sam Cachola finished with three hits. Sophomore Michael Thomas allowed two hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Bishop Amat 3, Capistrano Valley 0: Diego Barrera threw five shutout innings for the Lancers.
Riverside JW 1, Tesoro 0: Andrew Quintero threw a complete game allowing four hits. A.J. Jurado had the game-winning RBI.
Ayala 6, Mission Viejo 1: Jake Durna went four for four for Ayala.
St. John Bosco 6, Gahr 5: Matt Green had a three-run home run for the Braves.
Esperanza 5, Palm Desert 3: The Aztecs improved to 3-0. Reilly Lamp struck out two in 1 2/3 innings to get the save.
Granada Hills Kennedy 11, Van Nuys 0: Gilbert Hernandez allowed no hits and struck out nine in a five-inning Valley Mission League victory. George Hosegera hit a two-run home run.
Sylmar 21, Panorama 0: Moises Gutierrez had a three-run triple and Andrew Ochoa had a three-run double for the Spartans.
Brentwood 7, Leuzinger 4: Trace Webb had two hits and two RBI.
Redondo 9, Narbonne 3: Jason DiCoachea improved to 2-0 for Redondo.
Oaks Christian 12, Poly 2: Riley Helland had three hits and three RBI for the Lions.
Norco 8, Beaumont 1: The Cougars improved to 3-1.
Eastvale Roosevelt 4, Redlands East Valley 2: Another impressive win for Mustangs, who knocked off Mater Dei last week. Junior pitcher Miguel Garcia struck out five in six innings.
Santa Monica 1, North Hollywood 0: The Huskies dropped the nonleague game.
Beckman 5, St. Paul 4: Austin Schell had three hits for Beckman.
Orange Lutheran 5, Chaparral 2: Cole Spear struck out eight and walked none in six innings. Josh Bisonette had two RBI.
Damien 2, Corona 1: Damien won in nine innings at USC.
Banning 6, Bishop Montgomery 1: Ivan Martinez and Gabe Ruiz combined on a three-hitter. Anthony Valadez had two hits and two RBI.
