Baseball: Local products lead Cal Lutheran into NCAA Division III playoffs

It was win or go home time on Sunday, and Cal Lutheran knocked off Chapman, 7-2, to earn a berth in the NCAA Division III baseball playoffs by winning the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Assn. Post Season Tournament.
Infielder Davey Casciola from San Luis Obispo is batting .331. Outfielder Ramsey Abushahla from Woodland Hills Taft is hitting .308 with four home runs and 39 RBIs. Infielder Nicho DellaValle from Santa Ynez is hitting .406 with 58 hits.
Perhaps no player has been more valuable than outfielder-pitcher Jake Petersen from Thousand Oaks. He’s batting a team-high .444 with 63 hits and is also 8-2 on the mound.
