Baseball: Loyola receives academic award

Loyola has received the Academic Excellence Award from the American Baseball Coaches Assn. for the academic performance of its baseball team last season.

Among the players, infielder Stephen Burke has a 4.3 GPA, scored 35 out of 36 on the ACT and is headed to Amherst. Pitcher Tim Post is headed to Columbia. Shortstop Christian Gambale and pitcher Blake Beers are committed to Air Force and Michigan, respectively.

Graduates Riley Livingston (Holy Cross) and Brandon Posivak (Lafayette) also had strong GPAs.
