Boys’ basketball: Max Hoetzel is leaving Calabasas

Calabasas Coach Jon Palarz said Friday that standout 6-foot-8 senior Max Hoetzel has told him he will be leaving the school to attend Wilbraham and Monson Academy in Massachusetts.
Hoetzel said his parents are moving to Santa Ynez, and he wanted to prepare himself “academically and physically.”
Hoetzel had six scholarship offers and is hoping a change to the East Coast will help attract more offers.
