Boys’ basketball: North Hollywood clinches league title behind 41 points from Sean Fernandez

There should be no doubt who the East Valley League player of the year will be. That would be senior guard Sean Fernandez of North Hollywood.
In another breathtaking performance, Fernandez scored 41 points to help the Huskies complete a sweep of Grant, 61-58, and clinch the East Valley League title.
North Hollywood (19-9, 10-0) won its 16th consecutive game. Chad Holloway had 22 points for Grant.
In the Western League, Fairfax defeated LACES, 89-43. Donald Gipson scored 16 points. Louis Walker had 24 points in Hamilton’s 57-49 win over Palisades.
Dorsey stayed unbeaten in the Coliseum League with a 91-33 win over Locke. Lafayette Dorsey had 20 points for the Dons. Crenshaw defeated View Park, 62-50.
In the Del Rey League, Cantwell-Sacred Heart defeated Cathedral, 75-66. Jacob Davison had 22 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
Joel Finney scored 28 points in Central City’s 67-39 win over Mendez.
Avalon defeated Tarbut V’Torah, 51-48. Brandon Averitt had 23 points for Tarbut V’Torah.
