Boys’ basketball: Tyler Dorsey scores 40 points in Maranatha victory

Tyler Dorsey continued its impressive offensive contributions, scoring 40 points on Thursday night in Maranatha’s 67-61 Olympic League victory over Valley Christian.
He also had 12 rebounds.
In the Gold Coast League, No. 1-ranked Sierra Canyon had no trouble in defeating Brentwood, 77-35. Adam Seiko scored 15 points, Deveral Ramsey 14, Terrance McBride 13 and Cody Riley 10 and 13 rebounds.
Windward pulled out a 66-65 win over Viewpoint on a buzzer beater by Roman Davis. He tipped in a missed shot. Wonder Smith had 19 points and Davis 18. Freshman Shareef O’Neal added 11 points. Christian Juzang led Viewpoint with 27 points. Campbell Hall defeated Paraclete, 60-49. Aaron Holiday scored 29 points.
In the East Valley League, Grant defeated Chavez, 63-50. Tal Gonen scored 19 points and Gio Quintero added 18. Grant plays Poly on Friday night at Grant.
In the Big VIII League, Corona Centennial defeated Corona, 60-41. Ike Anigbogu had 14 points and 14 rebounds.
