Cross country: Jose Torres is the new coach at Birmingham

Jose Torres, a former runner at Birmingham who has served as an assistant coach, is the school’s new cross country coach, replacing Scott King.
King built the program into one of the best in the City Section over the past 25 years. He has retired from teaching but could stay involved in the track program.
Birmingham could have the City’s best runner this fall in senior Ryan Alexander.
