Football: A.J. Stanley of Hart gets attention after making five interceptions
- Share via
Hart High might have needed to put up a statue of junior defensive back A.J. Stanley after his performance on Friday against Golden Valley in a Foothill League game.
Stanley came away with five interceptions in Hart’s overtime win. But he almost had an astounding seven interceptions.
One interception didn’t count because he was ruled out of bounds. Another interception was wiped away because of off-setting penalties.
Five is pretty good, giving the 6-foot-2 free safety nine on the season.
“He’s really good,” Coach Mike Herrington said.
Last season, Stanley was on the junior varsity team.
