Football: Edison cruises to 49-10 victory in Maui

Huntington Beach Edison opened its football season on Saturday night with a 49-10 victory over Baldwin in Maui.
Quarterback Matthew Gane threw touchdown passes of 49 and 42 yards to Jake Favreau and added a 37-yard TD pass to Jacob Price, all in the first quarter for a 21-0 lead.
Edison rolled up 437 yards in total offense. Gane was seven of 11 for 185 yards. He also ran for a touchdown.
Favreau, who emerged during the summer as one of the top receivers in Orange County, caught seven passes for 146 yards and three touchdowns.
Coach Dave White promised his team lots of beach time on Sunday before they head home, so they’re going to have lots of fun surfing.
