Football: It’s time to see if Hart is headed for a special season

Newhall Hart (8-0, 3-0) has been coasting and cruising in recent weeks, but the time has come to find out if the Indians are going to finish up and have a special or ordinary season.
“We’re playing OK,” Coach Mike Herrington said. “We can play a lot better. This time of the year we need to up our game, up our intensity, up our execution.”
The Foothill League championship should be decided in the next two games. First up is a game against Valencia (6-2, 3-0) at College of the Canyons on Friday night. Next week is a regular-season finale against Canyon Country Canyon.
The good news for Hart is that it should get back this week one of its most productive players, running back-defensive back Connor Wingenroth, who has missed four games with a shoulder injury.
Quarterback Brady White continues to play well. He’s completing 69% of his passes and has thrown for 2,614 yards and 24 touchdowns.
