Football: Opponents must deal with Dominguez’s double wing
- Share via
Dominguez came close but was beaten by Orange Lutheran, 21-13, last week in the debut of first-year Coach Jason Miller.
Miller has gone back to the double-wing offense used by Dominguez during its glory days. The Dons gained 363 yards rushing but lost standout Henry Williams to a knee injury (he’ll be sidelined six to eight weeks).
Fullback Ioane Niupulusa rushed for 115 yards in 20 carries. Royce Anson, a transfer from Compton, gained 81 yards in 17 carries.
“I think when you play a Trinity League team, it reveals all your weaknesses and you learn a lot about yourself,” Miller said. “We’re optimistic. We have to fix some things.”
Next up for the Dons is Long Beach Jordan.
