Football: QB Lars Nootbaar is having big season for unbeaten El Segundo

USC already has quarterback commitments from Ricky Town of St. Bonaventure and Sam Darnold of San Clemente, but there’s another QB having a big season committed to the Trojans.
That would be El Segundo’s Lars Nootbaar, who has passed for 1,443 yards and 17 touchdowns. Nootbaar, though, is committed to USC for baseball.
“He’s having an unbelievable season,” El Segundo Coach Steve Shevlin said.
El Segundo is 7-0, and Nootbaar certainly would like to play two sports in college if available.
“He loves football,” Shevlin said.
But he’s also a standout shortstop-pitcher for El Segundo. He’s just another standout quarterback in the year of the quarterback in Southern California.
What’s interesting is that Town and Nootbaar enter week eight having not thrown a single interception. Not bad for future Trojans.
