Football: Riddell comes to the rescue of Morningside program

Morningside’s cash-strapped football program is scheduled to be given 80 helmets, shoulder pads, knee pads and other equipment from Riddell, saving the program, according to Coach Derwin Henderson.
“It’s a life saver,” Henderson said.
Henderson said there was no money for equipment for this coming season at the Inglewood school. An alumnus who works for Riddell was instrumental in getting a donation of more than $20,000 in equipment, Henderson said.
“Riddell is a hero,” Henderson said.
