Football: Southern Section continues investigation of Upland transfers
- Share via
Southern Section spokesman Thom Simmons said Tuesday that the section continues to investigate an unusual amount of transfer students who arrived to play football at Upland since the end of the last school year.
Simmons said there have been 13 transfer students. The school approved 10 as residential transfers, but that triggered intervention by Southern Section Commissioner Rob Wigod, who vowed last year to meet with school officials whenever a large number of transfers showed up at a particular school.
Four players have been cleared to play for Upland in Friday’s game against Santa Ana Mater Dei. Nine are under review.
Simmons said the section has been working with the school and the school district.
