Football: Watch out, Clay Matthews; meet freshman Nehemiah Thompson of Sylmar

Sylmar has discovered a player doing a terrific job sacking quarterbacks.
Freshman outside linebacker Nehemiah Thompson, 5 feet 11, 186 pounds, has been credited with 22 sacks this season, according to Sylmar officials.
“He’s like a Clay Matthews,” Coach John Brazil said. “He hunts the quarterback down.”
Sylmar is 9-2 and faces Dorsey at Jackie Robinson Stadium next to Dorsey High on Friday night in a Division I quarterfinal playoff game.
