Track: Four schools emerge in recruiting Michael Norman

Since July 1, college recruiters have been able to contact Vista Murrieta track sensation Michael Norman, who has been spending lots of time in home visits.

Coach Casey Candaele said Norman has set up official recruiting visits for USC, Texas, Texas A&M and LSU.

The big requirement Norman is seeking is warm weather for his college choice, Candaele said.

Norman, who will be a senior in the fall, won state championships in the 200 and 400. He’s expected to try to make the U.S. Olympic team in 2016.

This coming week, he’s a finalist for Gatorade’s male athlete of the year.
