On Friday, cable network Showtime released a trailer for their upcoming documentary, “Kobe Bryant’s Muse.”
“This isn’t a film,” says Bryant in the minute-long clip. “I want to say something. I [have] ... things I things I want to dive into and get off my chest. I don’t have the patience to sit and write a book, so I’ll do it this way.
“What I found through the process was that it became more than a documentary. It became therapy on film.”
Visuals show Bryant as a child, as a teenager playing basketball with his Lower Merion High School team, and as a Laker, recovering from Achilles surgery.
Bryant is an executive producer of the project but the All-Star guard told reporters in a July press conference, “Me as producer is only in title alone. I’m not sure what producer even means.”
The documentary will be released on Showtime in February.
