N.Y. Giants trade Jason Pierre-Paul to Buccaneers for draft picks

Two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul will be traded from the New York Giants to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to multiple media reports.
The Giants will receive a third-round (69th overall) and fourth-round (108th overall) draft pick from the Buccaneers in exchange for Pierre-Paul and the Giants’ fourth-round pick (102nd overall).
The trade was first reported by ESPN.
Pierre-Paul carries a $17.5-million salary cap hit for the 2018 season and isn’t seen as a fit in the 3-4 scheme being installed by new Giants defensive coordinator James Bettcher.
Claimed by the Giants in the first round of the 2010 draft, Pierre-Paul made the Pro Bowl in 2011 and 2012. His right index finger was amputated following a fireworks accident on July 4, 2015. He played all 16 games last year, recording 68 tackles, 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
