USC quarterback Cody Kessler had another efficient performance Saturday in USC’s 62-28 victory over California at Memorial Stadium.
Kessler completed 14 of 17 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns.
Kessler’s screen pass to Silas Redd in the first quarter resulted in a 12-yard touchdown that gave USC a 14-0 lead.
Tailback Javorius Allen caught a short pass from Kessler and turned it into a 57-yard scoring play.
“It’s nice when you can throw a four-yard pass and you have athletes like that, that can take it 50-plus” yards, Kessler said.
Kessler has completed 64% of his passes, 12 for touchdowns, with six interceptions.
