La Mirada High defensive lineman Keanu Saleapaga is no longer committed to USC’s 2016 recruiting class.
“My family and I have decided that it is in my best interest to decommit from USC and reopen my recruiting process,” Saleapaga wrote on Twitter on Monday. “I want to thank the coaching staff and wish them the best of luck in the future.”
Saleapaga, 6 feet 6 and 265 pounds, received the USC offer in June after he participated in the Trojans’ linemen camp. He accepted the offer on the spot.
There are 14 players committed in USC’s 2016 class, including defensive linemen Liam Jimmons from Huntington Beach, Keyshon Camp from Lake Gibson Senior in Lakeland, Fla., and Oluwole Betiku from Gardena Serra.
