USC Coach Steve Sarkisian preparing to play at least 10 freshmen

USC Coach Steve Sarkisian signed one of the top-rated recruiting classes in 2014, including 18 high school players and a junior-college transfer.
He is preparing to play at least 10 of them this season. “There could be some leeway there,” Sarkisian said Saturday.
Offensive linemen Toa Lobendahn and Damien Mama could be at left and right guard, respectively. Viane Talamaivao also will play.
Tight end Bryce Dixon will share significant time with senior Randall Telfer.
Receivers Juju Smith, Ajene Harris, and Adoree’ Jackson will have roles. Jackson also will play cornerback.
Junior college transfer Claude Pelon will play a key role on the defensive line.
John Plattenburg, recruited as a cornerback, made a push the last two weeks at safety.
A lack of depth at inside linebacker could result in playing time for Uchenna Nwosu or Olajuwon Tucker. Both spent the last week of practice taking reps in place of Anthony Sarao. Quarterback Jalen Greene, receiver Rahshead Johnson, offensive linemen Chris Brown and Jordan Austin, defensive lineman Don Hill, linebacker Malik Dorton and cornerbacks Lamont Simmons and Jonathan Lockett appear on track to redshirt.
