Gracious about gratuities

Be more careful about writing that tourists don’t need to give tips in Vietnam, Thailand, Fiji and in parts of the South Pacific [“Overseas Travelers, Here’s a Tip: Don’t,” More for Your Money, May 20].

It has been my experience that a tip of even a few dollars is greatly appreciated and does not cause resentment.
