A small luxury coastal resort, about two hours’ drive south of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, is offering an extra reason for families to venture forth: a multi-night package that includes suite accommodations and meals, plus a picnic and horseback riding. Up to two adults and two young children can use the package at the 42-guest Las Alamandas.
The resort’s 1,500 acres of tropical terrain and waterfront provide plenty of places to play. Among the activities are hiking, mountain biking, bird-watching, kayaking, surfing, tennis, beach volleyball and children’s arts and crafts.
Dates: Through Oct. 20, subject to availability; blackout dates may apply.
Price: From $510 a night, with a minimum of three nights, for two adults and up to two children under age 12 sharing a garden view suite. The price includes lodging and three daily meals with nonalcoholic beverages, plus a family picnic set-up on a private beach, one hour of horseback riding for each guest, fresh margaritas upon arrival and an in-room tropical fruit platter. The price does not include international airfare to and from Mexico, alcoholic beverages, 19% tax or 11.6% service charge.
Info: Las Alamandas, (888) 882-9616. Booking by phone or email, [email protected], is recommended.
