Las Vegas: Package deal helps newbies learn to ski at a discount
- Share via
January is National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month (who knew?) and to celebrate the occasion, the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort is offering novices a deal.
Visitors to Southern Nevada who prefer the slopes to the slots can find excellent ski conditions in the Spring Mountains, about an hour’s drive northwest of the Las Vegas Strip.
The “Get Started” package is available to beginners 13 or older. The four-day offer is priced at $199 and includes group lessons, lift tickets and equipment rental each of the four days.
The deal must be purchased by Jan. 31, but it’s good any time this season. For maximum benefit, however, guests may want to take the classes sooner rather than later; upon completion, they receive free passes for the rest of the 2012-13 season. (The resort is scheduled to be open until at least April 7.)
Participants also will get vouchers good for half off the cost of a season pass for next winter.
Heading out of Sin City toward Mt. Charleston, motorists take a scenic drive through a Ponderosa pine forest on their way to the base lodge, at an altitude of 8,510 feet. The resort averages 20 feet of snow each winter.
