Reporting from Las Vegas — Starting on New Year’s Eve, the only places to see Swedish deejay Alesso in the United States are at Encore Beach Club and XS Nightclub at Encore Las Vegas.
The daytime pool party and nightclub venues landed a two-year exclusive U.S. residency with the Grammy-nominated producer that starts with the New Year’s Eve festivities on Dec. 31 at XS Nightclub.
The deejay, whose debut album “Forever” opened as the top electronic album in the United States on iTunes, was called “the next big thing in dance music,” by pop star Madonna, who asked him to open for her on some dates during her “MDNA” tour.
Over the next two years, Alesso, whose real name is Alessandro Lindblad, will play 20 dates between the two clubs.
His breakout track “Heroes (we could be)” featured Tove Lo and earned more than 120 million streams and landed him on the Top 10 Airplay in the United Kingdom and United States. The video of the song reached more than 91 million views on YouTube.
Early-bird tickets for the XS New Year’s Eve celebration start at $50 for women and $100 for men.
