Reporting from Las Vegas — One of the nation’s greatest guitar virtuosos is heading on tour in 2016 with a stop at the Pearl inside the Palms. Joe Satriani is set to bring his retrospective tour “Surfing to Shockwave” on March 4, 2016.
Since releasing his first solo album, “Not of This Earth,” in 1986, the rocker has earned 15 Grammy nominations and sold more than 10 million albums, earning him the title of the biggest-selling instrumental rock guitarist of all time.
His 15th solo album, “Shockwave Supernova,” came out in 2015, and the 2016 tour celebrates his 30-year career with 45 dates nationwide. Expect Satriani to play songs he hasn’t performed live in more than 20 years.
Songs such as “Surfing With the Aliens,” “Always With Me, Always With You” and “Summer Song” showcase his guitar skills.
On the side, Satriani performs with Chickenfoot with former Van Halen front man Sammy Hagar, former bassist Michael Anthony and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
Tickets start at $43 and go on sale on Friday, Sept. 25.
Tickets: Pearl box office, (702) 944-3200
