Diamond, a 4-month-old neutered black cat, is double lucky as he

has been rescued twice.

He and his three brothers and sister were first rescued by a

senior citizen. He was born wild and saved from being trapped by this

good citizen who brought him in. Because he and his littermates were

born wild, most shelters would not have given them a chance to live

and find a loving home.

On Labor Day, Diamond was rescued a second time when he became

sick and was near death. His Foster mother rushed him to the

Emergency Vet Clinic, where they saved Diamond’s life. Because it was

a holiday emergency, vet services were required and Diamond’s vet

bills ran rather high. Diamond spent three days in the hospital, but

is doing fine and needs a home. He is very sweet and is very

dependant after his ordeal. He would do better in a home with no

small children and with someone who is home a lot. Donations are also

needed to help with Diamond’s emergency room bill. To inquire about

Diamond or his siblings, or to help with his vet bill, call Dianna at

(949) 759-3646.

Halloween is near, from Oct. 1 to Nov. 1, animal shelters across

the U.S. will not allow the adoption of black cats. Local shelters

will become overcrowded and they will need donations to board and

safeguard the black animals for the month. To help safeguard local

black cats this Halloween, call the Newport Beach Animal Shelter at

(949) 722-8301 or Costa Mesa Animal Shelter at (714) 536-8480.
