Jim and Kathryn Helfrich

Jim and Kathryn Helfrich of Newport Beach celebrated their 50th

wedding anniversary at the Balboa Bay Club.

After being set up by mutual friends in late 1954, the couple exchanged vows April 30, 1955, at St. Pius V in Cypress.

Over the next six years, the couple had six children: Claire

Marie, David Peter, James Anthony, Paul Andrew, Karen Marie and Peter

Steven. They now have 17 grandchildren.

After moving the large family around the world, the Helfrich

family settled in Newport Beach in 1968, where they started the

Helfrich Company, a successful high-tech firm they sold in 1984.

Anderson-Tucker

Vanessa Anderson of Kerang, Australia, and Kevin Tucker of Newport

Beach exchanged vows at Eumerella Bush Chapel in Anglesea, Australia,

on March 19, 2005.

The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Betty Anderson of Kerang,

Australia. She wore a soft, silk, strapless pink gown. The

bridesmaids were Sarsha Dyer and Megan Swainson.

The bridegroom is the son of Jim and Katie Tucker of Corona del

Mar. The groomsmen were Scott and Ryan Tucker.

The reception took place at Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club with 130

guests in attendance. The couple spent their honeymoon in Tahiti.

They plan to live in Costa Mesa.
