The following local residents and Azusa Pacific University students
made the academic Dean’s List: Burbank resident and history major
Leann M. DeBoer, a graduate of Village Christian High School and the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rein DeBoer; Glendale resident and computer
science major Eric H. Tazekand, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George H.
Tazekand; Glendale resident and English major Tina Tazekand, a
graduate of Hoover High School and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
George H. Tazekand; Glendale resident and nursing major Melissa
Aguayo.
Lisa Schurga of Burbank is appearing in Improv Asylum’s premiere
of its latest comedy, “Depp Country,” at Hollywood’s IO West, 6366
Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood.
Performances are at 10 p.m. Thursday and Sept. 29. Tickets are

Briana N. Cwik, the daughter of Ron and Carol Cwik of Burbank, was
named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at North Park
University in Chicago.
A sociology major, Briana was recognized for achieving a grade
point average of 3.5 or better.
Scott Simon of Burbank was named to the dean’s list for the spring
semester at Quinnipiac University.
Erica Santoyo, the daughter of Jeanne Santoyo of Burbank, was
named an All-American Scholar by the U.S. Achievement Academy. Erica
attends John Burroughs High School.
Glendale resident Diane Davies was recently honored by Consulting
Magazine as one of the “top influential consultants for 2005.”
Davies, a principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP, has been
instrumental in developing programs to retain and advance
high-performing women in her organization.
Lisa Bennett of Glendale was named to Armstrong Atlantic State
University’s dean’s list for the spring term.
In order to make the dean’s list, a student must be enrolled in at
least nine semester hours of course work and earn a minimum grade
point average of 3.6.
Katherine Tyrrell Beattie has been named to the spring semester
Dean’s Honor List for the College of Communication at Texas Christian
University.
The daughter of La Canada Flintridge residents Kim and Andy
Beattie, Katherine is a 2004 graduate of La Canada High School.
Rachael Han of Glendale, the daughter of Ki Song Han and Sue Han
of Glendale, received a bachelor’s degree from Emory College of Emory
University in Atlanta, Ga.
