Famous Stars shoot past Psychos

The Famous Stars shot out to an 8-0 lead over the HB Psychos and rode that big advantage to a 10-2 victory in Campbell Division play at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Casey Brecher scored three times and Brett Rudy twice during the eight-goal assault, which also included single scores by Kyle Hinojosa, Colin Brecher and Bailey Lowe.

Rudy scored twice more and Lowe another time in the final quarter to complete the scoring.

Chris Chen led the Famous Stars in assists with four. Casey Brecher had two assists and Rudy, Lowe and Colin Brecher each had an assist. Blake Walker recorded nine saves.

Jessica Blackwell gave the HB Psychos their first goal when she scored late in the second quarter, and Preston Alvarez added the other goal in the final quarter.

Karson Derego had 18 saves.

In other Campbell Division action:

Ice Dogs 4, Hot Wheels 1

The Ice Dogs scored the final three goals of the match to pull away from the Hot Wheels.

Cameron Breault and Brayden Moore each scored twice, and Moore and Brandon Ha each had an assist.

Tyler Wilford finished with 19 saves.

Joseph Maass scored unassisted for the Hot Wheels, and Chandler Campbell had 11 saves.

Rockets 6, Devils 3

The Rockets rolled out to a 5-0 lead and went on to defeat the Devils.

Cole Pavlik scored twice and Trenton Shehan, Jimmy Duff and Joe Gibb scored once each to make it 5-0. Jake Gealy completed the scoring for the Rockets in the final period.

Duff and Gealy each also had two assists, Megan McIntyre and Parker Andrews each had one assist and Riley Bozanich had eight saves.

Breakers 7, Ducks 2

Ian Gibbons and Melissa Paniz each scored twice as the Breakers toppled the Ducks.

Braeden Stack, Garrett Zolg and Jeff Klimczak also scored for the Ducks. Stack assisted on two goals, Gibbons and Klimczak each had an assist and Aaron Maccabi had 13 saves.

Tanner Osterkamp scored for the Ducks, and Ian Bast had 15 saves.
